Minto Cup recap- Game 2

Game 2 of the Minto Cup Finals started similarly to Game 1 except this game opened with four goals in the first and continued to add ten more in the final frames.

The Orangeville Northmen looked like the more determined team from the opening whistle. Adanacs’ Assistant Coach Creighton Reid echoed a similar sentiment, “I think they came out and they were ready to play and won a lot of looseballs and a lot of stuff that we were winning last game. Those kill, when the offensive team gets a loose ball and a second possession the D gets tired.”

Northmen Head Coach DJ Clevely suggested the urgency came from senior players and not the coaching squad, “as coaches you can only do so much, you can make some line up adjustments and tweak some things here and there. But it is on those guys, they (21-year-old players) got us here, we obviously have some good leaders in that room.”

There were some bright spots in Coquitlam’s game according to Coach Reid, “we are still feeling good, we knew it would be a tough battle, they are a real strong team. We are confident in our guys, it is now a best of three series and we are ready to go.”

The new best of three series begins tomorrow insides the LEC.
