BCJALL Awards: Malcom Adds Scoring Title to Resume

WILL MALCOM - NEW WESTMINSTER SALMONBELLIES

While not as exciting as the actual race taking place in the BCJALL standings, there was quite an end to the season when it comes to the league's scoring race.

After stellar seasons, the race between Malcom and Victoria's Zach Manns came down to one final game, one that turned out to be meaningless in the ultimate playoff picture. Malcom overtook Manns by putting up five goals and seven points to lead the 'Bellies to a 10-5 win over the Langley Thunder. Manns had quite the game himself - but only had two goals and five points, allowing Malcom to take the title by a single point.

Of course, Manns and the Shamrocks would have the last laugh by outlasting the Salmonbellies in an epic 7-game series.

Malcom eclipsed his award-winning rookie season by 23 points, scoring 106 behind 41 goals and 65 assists. He also put up four game-winning goals and only saw his shooting percentage drop by 2 per cent. He was similarly impressive in the playoffs, putting up 27 points (13 G 14 A) in those seven contests.
