Coquitlam wins league title, semifinals set

The defending Minto Cup champion Coquitlam Adanacs have clinched the league title in the 2025 BC Junior A Lacrosse League for another year and will be the top seed for the playoffs which begin this week.

The Adanacs (14-3) earn the No. 1 seed and will face the Delta Islanders (9-8) which earned the No. 4 seed. The best-of-seven series begins on Thursday night July 17 in Coquitlam at the Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex at the Coquitlam Sports Centre at 7:30 p.m., with Game 2 the next night, July 18 in Delta at the Ladner Leisure Centre at 7:30 p.m. Game 3 goes July 20 (3 p.m.) at the Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex and Game 4 goes July 21 in Ladner at 7:30 p.m.

Coquitlam won the regular season-series 2-1; the Adanacs defeated the Islanders 9-7 on July 2, 17-4 on June 20, and lost 14-4 on June 11.

The Victoria Shamrocks (12-5) will face off against the Nanaimo Timbermen (11-6) again in this year's semi finals in an extended Island Derby. The series begins on July 15 in Victoria with a 7 p.m. game at the Q Centre, with Game 2 taking place Friday July 18 at 7 p.m. at Frank Crane Arena in Nanaimo.

Nanaimo won the season series 2-0 winning 12-8 on June 12,  and 13-8 on July 8.
