Field Fridays: Berg & King in 2015 MLL Collegiate Draft
BCJALL Alumni, Wes Berg (University of Denver '15/Coquitlam Adanacs '14) and Jesse King (The Ohio State University '15/Victoria Shamrocks '13), have been amongst the players predicted to be selected in the 1st Round of the 2015 MLL Collegiate Draft, which takes place Friday, January 23, 2015 at 8:30PM in the Baltimore, MD.
Phil Shore from Lacrosse Magazine outlined his MLL Mock-Draft. He has Jesse King being picked 5th overall by the Boston Cannons and reminds fans that King "and can drive from multiple spots [on the field]." and Wes Berg being picked 8th overall by the Denver Outlaws, because of the natural turnover that playing in Denver can provide.
Kyle Devitte from Inside Lacrosse gives his breakdown of the 10 "best players available" and ranks Jesse King and Wes Berg, 2nd and 3rd overall respectively. Devitte is quick to recognize both BCJALL Alumni's ability to impact a game "[Jesse King] can run a game without carrying the ball once. He is always making an impact no matter what the defense does" and "Berg [has the] ability to carry and finish".
Both players, Wes Berg and Jesse King, played on Team Canada and won the 2014 FIL World Championship this past summer in Commerce City, CO.
