ROOKIE OF THE YEAR

WILL MALCOM

NEW WEST SALMONBELLIES

Will Malcom had one of the most productive seasons in the league this season. He was second on the Bellies and fifth overall in the league in points with 83 and proved to be one of the most valuable players New West had during a great playoff run. It all came together for Malcom and that was recognized by the league, who have awarded him the Marcolis Gibson Award for Rookie of the Year.

Malcom was arguably the best Salmonbellie on the floor in the BCJALL Finals, where he built off a dominant regular season. Malcom scored over two points a game with 7 goals and 20 points in 9 games. He also proved he's a dangerous player anywhere on the floor; he scored goals from down low, from 35+ feet out, from the wrong side of the floor. The lefty is as dynamic a playmaker as he is a scorer as well. He only trailed Coquitlam's Dylan Foulds for the league lead in apples with 57 of them. He was also named to the BCJALL All-Star first team alongside teammate Tre Leclaire.

His game meshes well with a variety of players and that's what makes him such a multi-dimensional threat every time he steps on the floor. With a bright future ahead and the room to grow and develop as a player will make Malcom a household name in the league for years to come.
