VICTORIA SHAMROCKS CAPTURE 2026 BCJALL CHAMPIONSHIP, EARN MINTO CUP BERTH

Victoria Shamrocks... THE 2026 BCJALL Champions

The 2026 BC Junior A Lacrosse League championship came down to a six-game battle between the Victoria Shamrocks and Coquitlam Adanacs, with Victoria ultimately claiming the BCJALL title and earning the league's berth at the 2026 Minto Cup.

The best-of-seven championship series featured plenty of momentum swings, high-scoring games and close finishes, with neither team willing to give an inch throughout the matchup.

The series opened at Coquitlam Sports Centre, where the Adanacs edged Victoria 7-6 to take an early 1-0 series lead.

Victoria answered in Game 2 at The Q Centre with its most decisive performance of the series, earning a 15-7 victory to even things at one game apiece.

Coquitlam regained the series lead in Game 3, returning home for a 12-8 win

Game 4 saw the Shamrocks earn an 8-5 win at The Q Centre, followed by a 13-9 victory in Game 5 at Coquitlam's barm. With the series on the line in Game 6, the two teams delivered the most dramatic finish of the championship.

Overtime Decides the Championship

Back at The Q Centre for  Game 6, the Adanacs and Shamrocks battled through 60 minutes of lacrosse with neither side able to pull away.

Victoria eventually secured an 11-10 sudden-death overtime victory. The Massive save by the net minder Greyson Beggs had fans on the edge of their seats, to then be swept off their feet when Evan McDougall, to close out the series with his rocket of a goal making the Victoria Shamrocks the 2026 BCJALL champions. 

Victoria Heads to the Minto Cup

With the series victory, Victoria will now represent the BCJALL at the 2026 Minto Cup, Canada's National Junior A Lacrosse Championship.

The tournament is scheduled for August 16–23 at Max Bell Centre in Calgary, Alberta, bringing together the champions from the BCJALL, Ontario Junior Lacrosse League and Rocky Mountain Junior A Lacrosse League, along with the host Calgary Raiders.

For Victoria, the trip to Calgary marks the next chapter in a playoff run that began with a series against Port Coquitlam and culminated in a six-game championship battle against Coquitlam.

For Coquitlam, the season ends one step short of another Minto Cup appearance after the Adanacs captured the national championship in each of the previous two seasons.

The 2026 BCJALL season now has its champion. Victoria will carry the BCJALL banner to Calgary, where the Shamrocks will compete for the Minto Cup against the best Junior A teams from across the country.
